Empowering Your Educational Journey

My Platform

Every family deserves to be an active partner in their child’s education. I will work to improve parent-school communication channels and develop family resource centers in schools.

Family Engagement

I will advocate for competitive compensation, and reduce administrative burdens. I want to recruit diverse educators from HBCU’s and beyond.

Supporting Our Teachers

As someone who has worked in our schools and prison, I know we must act early. I will champion restorative justice practices over punitive discipline, and advocate for mental health support in every school. I will also advocate for wraparound services for at-risk students.

Breaking the Pipeline

My Platform

Moore County is Top 10 in NC - let’s reach higher by closing achievement gaps with targeted support. Also, expanding Career & Technical Education programs. We need to ensure every student reads at grade level, and prepare our students for college AND careers.

Academic Excellence

Student success requires emotional and mental wellness, I will ensure Counselors and Social workers in every school, also Trauma-informed teaching practices needs awareness. Peer support programs for students and Family mental health resources.

Mental Health & Wellness

It takes a village to raise successful students. I will build faith community engagement programs and volunteer mentorship opportunities. We need Community use of school facilities, and build business partnerships for internships.

Community Partnerships

About Anthony

"As a mental health professional, Certified School Social Worker, former NC Department of Adult Corrections employee, former Moore County Schools Social Worker, and CEO/Founder of MALES of Distinction, I've witnessed firsthand how strong family connections and community support systems are essential for breaking cycles of incarceration and building pathways to success.

Through my unique lens of having worked both in our schools and in corrections, I've seen both sides of the pipeline - where our students start and where too many end up. Every day through MALES of Distinction, I work to redirect at-risk youth toward success. I refuse to let another generation of Moore County children end up in the corrections system when we have the power to intervene through education, mental health support, and family engagement."
